Clinton was a no-brainer vs Trump too, but she still lost because she wasn't a great candidate and the Democrats ran a terrible campaign that largely ignored the concerns of a big chunk of swing state voters.
Given his age, Biden should have been considered a 1-term President from day 1 and there should have been at least some attempt at building a succession plan over the last 3 years. Maybe it wouldn't have worked, or maybe Biden would have remained popular, in which case you give him another shot. But they did nothing and now they have a declining 81 year old with a 40% approval rating, a useless VP with a 35% approval rating, and basically no indication that they're going to change their path.
Even the special counsel thing that just came out questioning Biden's capacity was an own goal. In a vain attempt to appear non-partisan, Biden's Attorney General tasked a Trump-appointed Republican to handle the investigation and that was the result.
