I bet it’s the 8 year, 60 million dollar contract that Hanifin didn’t sign at the beginning of the year. If Hanifin signs that, I think that would be a fine decision for the organization. Boomer went over a bunch of comparables yesterday on Barn Burner, and they made me think 7-7.5 per year would be pretty reasonable, actually, especially with the cap about to rise so much.
I still don’t believe Hanifin will sign because he wouldn’t sign that contract initially, and it’s long been rumoured he wants to play in the US.
But if he will, great. If he won’t, they have to trade him. I think that’s obvious. And I’d hold him out from the time he first gave them the decision not to sign.
