Thoughts on the game:
Zary continues to be Mr. Opportunistic. I ain't mad, just sayin'.
I thought that Markstrom held his team in it for the first 10 minutes, but you should never apologize for good goaltending. He definitely saved 2 or 3 goals above expected tonight, but then the Flames also hit 2-4 posts as well, so it all evens out.
Two guys that made bad turnovers in Mangiapane and Kuzmenko found a way to even it up with a goal each. That's how you make up for a bad play. Good stuff.
Fits and spurts tonight for the team overall. Not quite as dominant as the Boston game, but still very good overall. I hated that 4 minute powerplay in the 3rd. I question whether or not Savard keeps his job at the end of the year. That was hard to watch.
One last thought: I think Pachal is quite the surprise in his skating and mobility. You think "tough stay at home defender" and the thought of a slower, plodding skater comes to mind. Not him. That rush in the 1st was unbelievable. Watch it again, he got robbed of a goal. I think he needs to pick and choose more about when to rush the puck as he got caught a couple of times, but his mobility is evident. That's a nice bonus. I think if they're patient with him he'll be a great pick up.
