Agreed. And until recently, that was keeping me on the I'm-fine-with-signing-him side of the fence. What has changed my mind is:
1) Kylington - never thought we would see him playing again
2) Solovyov and Pachal - bottom 6 guys at best, but good enough to get us through the next couple years.
3) more D prospects - Morin and Brzustewicz are on a completely different level than hoping for Poirier and Kuznetsov to develop
4) with the cap space we'll have next year, there is plenty of room for a couple of UFAs to top up the team and get them through the next couple years
With Weegar and Andersson leading the way, having a decent-enough D core should be doable.
