I would re-sign him because it takes years for dmen to develop into top 4 dmen in the NHL. Without him the Flames have two and maybe Kylington has an outside chance to get there. Nobody else on the current roster has that potential IMO. Anyone not in the NHL will take a minimum of 3 years to get there. It almost never happens that a Poirier comes to the NHL and is a top 4 guy off the hop. Trading Hanifin almost locks in another 3 years of being a bottom 5-10 team in the league. That may be a good thing but that is what trading him almost ensures IMO.
Could all be moot if the intel Sec has is accurate.
