Last night I watched a random match that I normally wouldn't have bothered with: FC Real Esteli from Nicaragua upset Club America from Mexico 2-1. The home fans were loving it.
It is exciting to know that Cavalry gets to participate, and that means a trip to Orlando already. But in future rounds (dare to dream) or future years, that might mean watching them play in some interesting places across the continent. Good for the club, the league, and the players.
Still annoyed at the home pitch situation (surface, climate, etc. - I get it) and I hope that it gets sorted for future years, but it is still neat to be part of it.

I have a feeling that if the Concacaf Champions Cup becomes an attractive (and lucrative) situation for ATCO going forward (in addition to the growing popularity of CPL and the Canadian Championship), they'll do the right thing and heat the field eventually. They definitely have the money - just a hunch, but they need to see the carrot up close first.
