But it's pretty hard to rationalize taking Lindholm out of the 1C spot and replacing him with a winger that is known to be somewhat suspect defensively, and losing one of your two key PK forwards doesn't downgrade your hockey team.

I think it would be fun to look at it all towards the end of the season. See which player adjusted better to the new team.
Moreover, I think that the fact that I can even attempt to compare the two players' production is a good sign. Especially when we consider the other assets involved.
I fully expect the Flames to be a tire-fire defensively. Especially after they trade Tanev. That said, it's also a great opportunity to try less experienced guys at center.
So yeah, the OP was more me trying to be positive than taking shots at Lindholm.
