He allegedly committed sexual assault while in the Flames system and with a valid contract.
What is the possible downside of considering his contract terminated and not paying him? He files a grievance and you lose and have to pay him. Heck, even suspend him without pay while the court proceedings unfold. Do something other than bury your head in the sand.
