I don't like it either, but they would be insane to turn down a big money match like Rock/Reigns. Hardcore fans will hate it, but it'll draw huge for the casual viewer. Dwayne is (by far) the biggest star to come out of the wrestling business. If he wants to have one final match at Mania, how could they possibly say no to him?
I enjoy the unpredictability about it as well, as with Rhodes 2.0 the outcome would have been all but a formality. That and we saw the same feud last year... Rhodes needs the belt to finish the story. Why does it necessarily need to be against Reigns? That being said they did Rhodes dirty in this situation. Good on him for being a company man. I think he realizes his turn as the #1 star in the company is coming. The Reigns era is likely coming to an end in the next few months. Cody has a good 5-10 years still ahead of him.
One thing is that I hope we see Rock and Reigns on television more often. It's not going to work if they only show 2-3 times before Mania. At least one of them needs to be on the show week to week. With The Rock now being part of TKO I bet he'll ensure both of them are on the shows more often.
We can't forget WrestleMania is more of a spectacle than a wrestling show. They want to have starpower, and now they have that.
