The article was a puff piece carrying water for the Flames. It had one soft quare saying it was difficult to terminate, and then went on with how Dube was owed due process.

You terminate his contract and let him file a grievance. If he wins his grievance and you end up paying him who cares, at least you were forced to do it.

Mike Richards contract was terminated when he was only charged, it's doable.

And he was paid a signing bonus by the Flames, so he was an employee in 2018.
