Well, sure, but I assumed the question was related to what lay people think of as bail. Release by the police is a form of bail, but most people I suspect are thinking of judicial interim release on conditions imposed by a court, not just the relatively minor conditions that police can impose by way of undertaking (basically on the honour system).
