I don't see this Treliving unhinged view that many do. I see a GM that thought his team could compete finding a replacement for the other core forward he lost in Gaudreau walking away.
Many pundits had the Flames as one of the team's to beat, so he wasn't that far off the "expert" view.
Didn't work out, but it's hardly the mad scientist angle that many are taking.
Nor do I buy the guy looking to leave screwing his team suggestion. He wanted to stay but they chose Sutter.
