I think it's actually pretty astute of Pierce to get some veteran guys around him. Let's face it he has no experience running an offseason program or installing an offence. As a mid-season replacement you're mostly motivating the players and relying on the coordinators to do most of the game plans. Going from position coach to Head Coach is a massive leap and sure to fail if you don't surround yourself with experienced people.
