The actual deal from the Flames perspective was:
Monahan + 1st for Kadri
Montreal got the extra 1st for re-signing Monahan at a bargain, when no other teams were outbidding them.
Kadri could still even turn into an asset. At the very least, he looks like an amazing influence on Zary.
