If Huberdeau played like a superstar, this team would be a good team and probably battling for the division rather than rebuilding. At the time, adding Kadri wasn't terrible. At some point teams need to try and win and not just asset manage. Jets probably are blowing assets for nothing right now. If they win the cup or even go on a deep playoff run, it's worth it.

I don't care about his pace or the cap going up. Giving up a good pick to sign a UFA is bad asset management, no matter the situation and it's no wonder other teams don't do it. If they did, Gaudreau might well be playing in Philly or New Jersey right now.
