all Evanescence did was take a sound that was popular in Europe, gloss it up and package it in an easy to digest format for American audiences. they're the Nickelback of goth rock, just with a less ugly vocalist

I have complete discographies of all 3 bands, and I just can’t see how you can say that Sharon blows her away, if anything, the consensus among fans seems to be that Sharon’s singing (live) is the weakest link for Within Temptation.
Lacuna Coil (known as Ethereal back then) was established by Marco Coti-Zelati and Andrea Ferro in 1994. Amy Lee teamed up with Ben Moody in 1994. Both Evanescence and Lacuna Coil released their first EPs in 1998. So I don’t see how you can say that LC has been around much longer. Not to mention both bands (and that goes for WT too) were known only locally for years.
The only major pre-Fallen releases with international success were Comalies and Mother Earth (Silent Force was released in 2004). I would really love to hear which Fallen song is stealing from which Comalies/Mother Earth song. All three bands sound similar, well maybe because all three bands are female fronted gothic rock bands. But no one is stealing from someone else. That is just bitter talk considering Evanescence enjoys more success than WT and LC combined. And again - I love all 3 bands so I am dissing no one.
PS. Previous albums like The Dance or HalfLife were simply not popular when they were released, so that leaves us only with Comalies and Mother Earth.
