Again, Carroll's strength was coaching up and talent evaluation and getting outcasts to pull together. Defense obviously first, but him getting the most out of players, and then, moving on from them a year before other teams would, made them ever evolving.
That attitude isn't going away as most of the organization adopted that these last 12 years.
But, they need the talent on defense, and that's part of what's been missing, besides DCs after Quinn that really didn't work. Blowing dough on Jamal Adams hasn't helped either these last years; I always thought that an odd move for a PC and JS team.
Again, OC will be huge, and have to figure out what they will do at QB...Geno or move.on.
