You be just missed the entire point though. It’s not the $0.15 that rises to $0.25 next year. It’s things like you not being able to have a bag unless you ask otherwise the business can be charged $250. So, you go go through drive thru or order for pick-up a couple McRibs, some fries, a Big Mac and a round of apple pies. No one cares about the extra $0.15, or $0.30. But when they get handed everything individually it’s completely stupid.
Sure, the business could pre-emptively put that in a bag like any rational service industry would do. After all, we all know that no one is bringing a bag for this kind of thing. But of course that’s against the bylaw and the customer has to ask. Same for condiments, napkins, utensils.
