This has nothing to do with personally being offended by that statement. I'm not. I've heard it used before, over beers, after work, and in private settings. You're moving your own goal posts in this weird stance you're taking.
I'm telling you, that phrase is not appropriate in professional settings, particularly when a politician on the taxpayer dime is saying this phrase in a setting that is ill appropriate. And I say that, with the support of many others, that this isn't in the normal lexicon of words used in a professional setting. Maybe you're the exception, but you're certainly not the rule.
Anyway, let's get back to arguing about plastic straws and bags and how it's an absolute outrage. Priorities, right?
