I’m willing to forgive the Flames for what they did. I’m not sure I could say the same about Dillon Dube.
Cut ties with him as soon as possible and all is forgiven. Nobody here has any clue what the Flames did or didn’t know. Nobody knows what the NHL and Hockey Canada did or did not disclose to teams during the investigation.
I think a lot of the outrage is being misdirected.

I do agree with your characterization that the Flames made a PR blunder, that is exactly how I would characterize it. A mistake to share information that was unnecessary, particularly when the allegations were known. The other teams did it right.
Maybe people would stop criticizing the Flames if people would stop defending their statement. Or maybe the Flames should issue a short apology and put it to bed.
