My father, a card carrying UCP and Smith disciple (also a frequent subscriber to her radio show) at least admitted during the cold streak that the government ####ed up years ago when they de-regulated the energy industry and moved it to a private market. But that won't stop him from voting for the same type of policy

Just a guess on my part but I think a lot of them think that although the party they support is doing poorly, the other party(ies) would do even worse if they were in power.
