They should get better lawyers then because the other teams seemed to figure out how to not blame it on mental health.

I agree with Matt. But it is possible that he was made aware of the upcoming charges, and told the flames organization that he would be taking a leave of absence, do to mental health. That way they wouldn't be held accountable. Even if they didn't agree to it, legally they had to.
