I'm surprised at the folks saying "I didn't vote for him but he's been good to deal with."
My experience has been that he's great at talking about how we all need to listen and get along, but he's a limp towel when it comes to standing for anything or getting anything done.
Case in point: the 5th ave NW re-paving. The city policy is that the cycling lane should be rebuilt as a protected lane, but oh no there was no budget for it and despite many of his constituents asking for it, he's not going to find it. The bike lane is literally right next to a school and the road is already being ripped up -- the perfect opportunity for some pragmatic fiscal conservatism.
But because it's not easy, Terry's just going to throw his hands up and we'll rip it up and repeat the next time the road needs to be repaved. IMO Terry's a shell of a councillor with no views of his own, hiding behind pragmatism and compromise. He just goes wherever is easiest. He got in on a vote split and I desperately hope a better option is available next cycle so we're not stuck with him for a decade like Sean Chu.
ALSO: he voted for the bylaw? What the hell
