Big Island had the nastiest people imo. Lots of poverty. It's where they send the waitresses once they aren't hot anymore. Tons of drugged out freakazoids. The black volcanic landscape gets really old and lame after, like, a day. I like my Hawaiian vacations to be way more lush.
There is cool stuff like some big waterfall, the burbling volcano thing with some old volcano tubes you can walk through, but really, the nasty people really fk it up. Probably a lot cheaper to just walk around some inner city lrt stations...similar vibe.
