It's also worth noting that it's not like Goff was bad or meaningfully responsible for the loss yesterday. If Reynolds catches that first fourth down they are probably at worst up 17 with at least two more minutes off the clock, so something like 27-10 with 20 minutes left, they would have been in tremendous shape with that catch. And even after that conversion fail the Niners still needed a miracle TD and a running back fumble to facilitate the comeback. I would only for sure move on from him if he wants top of the market money, or if a clear upgrade is available. SuperMatt is also spot on that Cousins carries a lot of risk coming back from the injury he had, plus the learning curve of a new offense. What the Lions really need more than anything is secondary help, you can't be as bad against the pass as they are and hope to contend for very long.
