You have to look beyond the record though. They had an incredibly favourable schedule and pretty good injury luck. Their defense was terrible against the pass (again) and they're likely going to lose at least one coordinator this offseason.
Combine all of that with a resurgent Packers team and both the Bears and Vikings likely being better next season, and that division is not going to be the cakewalk it was this year.
They do have a fairly good cap situation, but this is a pretty weak FA class and they also have to make a decision on Jared Goff this offseason. He has no guaranteed money left on his deal, so there's zero chance he plays a down next season without a new contract and the franchise tag isn't an option.
It's not impossible that they'll be back next season, but this was probably the best chance they're going to have for a while unless they really nail this offseason.
