For any of those directly involved with this debacle, it shall never go away, no matter the outcome of unfolding events, arrests and future trials. Each of them knows the truth of their actions and will live forever with the shame of that , however they may try and cover up their participation or admission of horrible wrong doing.
Hopefully this shall be a huge warning and deterrent for potential future instances of similiar behaviour, whether in the sports world or any other domain of human conduct regarding abuse of others. The underlying attitudes, behavior and perverse entitlement that leads to rape culture and abuse of woman repeats itself over and over, in some form or other on a daily basis around the globe.
It is good this isn’t being stuffed away. Obviously there is and are going to be many consequences for many people beyond the core participants.
Hopefully one possible outcome of this matter, is a greater awareness of individual respect and decency, towards others and ones self.
Even in times and moments of going over the line, whether in inebriation or some other state of ego induced place of perceived invisibility.
