While the ICJ didn't explicitly use the words "cease fire" in their ruling, I do agree with the South African FM that the only way for Israel to follow the ruling, "shall ensure with immediate effect that its military does not commit any acts as described in point 1 above", which lists out, "(a) Killing members of the group; (b) causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (c) deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; and (d) imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group", is to cease fire. The list also describes the definition of genocide.
To me, the ruling basically is calling for immediate cease fire and to stop acts that constitute genocide.
Also, big kudos to South Africa, who has lived through apartheid to bring this to the international court!
