I don't think Uncle Toni is working that much with Felix any longer. His main coach remains Frederic Fontang and he seems quite reluctant to move on from him. I agree with you that a new voice/philosophy is needed, there's not enough variety in FAA's game, it seems that Plan 'A' is hit hard and when that doesn't work, Plan 'B' is hit harder.

The fact that he doesn't have a kick serve or is not willing to develop one is really surprising for a guy who relies heavily on his serve. His rally tolerance will likely never be on the same level as Sinner, thus I think he just needs to focus on his weapons that help him win points. One thing I would like to see is incorporating more angles into his game which means taking some pace off the ball. That should cut down on the unforced errors and also move his opponent around and force them to hit the ball from all areas of the court. Also, how about some more height and spin on his shots, I think he falls into a pattern where he keeps delivering the same ball with the same pace and same height and his opponent gets pretty comfortable.

The brief indoor season is coming up shortly, let's see if Felix can get on a roll. Felix is slated to play Rotterdam in the 2nd week of February, maybe he can channel some of his 2022 form.
