I read some of it - and it seems like the discussion is about things that were important in older and your own life aren't as important to younger generations.
That's basically the passing of time.
99% of us lived through 9/11 and it changed a ton of our lives and is a world defining thing for us. But if I was born in 2002 and turning 22 - its history to me, just like the Vietnam War or whatever in the 60's was a 30 minute history class to me and you but may have been world changing for your parents. Just like in 20 years - kids being born now will not give a damn about Covid but for the current 20 year olds - it will define their life.
