The quality of the player being traded is also immensely important.
Horvat had 31 goals and 54 points in 49 games when he was traded.
Giroux had 42 points in 57 games for Philly when he was traded. Giroux was a 53.34 CF%, 53.21 SF%, 54.55% GF%, 51.41 xGF% player when Philly dealt him.
Lindholm is on pace for 53 points this season and is 46.35 CF%, 48.76 SF%, 44.26 GF%, and a 43.45 xGF% player this year
As Flames fans we have to HOPE that Lindholm has a reputation league wide that allows teams to look past what is going on this season, and how his production has plummeted since losing Johnny and Chucky.
Lindholm is an overrated player. If he was what we actually thought he may be back in 21/22, the Flames would be in a much better position than they are now.
He is, by far, the 3rd centre on this team. Kadri and Backlund are both significantly better than him. Patience is a virtue, but the Flames have likely held onto Lindy for too long to get the type of return some seem to be expecting.
