I could see Dallas as a team that surprises everyone and steps up to pay the price. They are loaded with prospects and are having an underrated season. They have been in their competitive window for a few years now so they might want to make a move to give themselves a better chance against Colorado (who they likely play in the first round). Also, they have a need for a player like Lindholm.
Detroit could also use him and are in a playoff spot again - but Yzerman is a patient GM so I don’t know if he’s willing to pay for a rental player at this point. Detroit would not be considered a real contender yet.
