We know its coming and, as we learned during the COVID-19 Pandemic, human society is essentially incapable of learning 'World Ending' lessons, which is why something stupid we do is eventually going to end us.
And thus, even as we know AI is going to kill us all, we keep right on hurtling towards it.
Its a tale as old as time, it started with slavery and then mechanization through the Industrial Revolution.
"Hey...um...guys...do you um...think maybe we should just stick to doing our own work ourselves?"
And then BAM! A T-1000 shows up and kills that guy!
