It shouldn’t actually need to be said that different things impact different people different ways, and that public criticism is quite a bit different and requires an entirely different form of “resiliency” than riding a bus in the AHL. Sure, we know Brouwer “survived” a nasty headline in the Sun, but you actually have no idea how that or the other negativity surrounding him effected him, and it’s actually not your place to say what should or shouldn’t affect any of these guys.
End of the day, people can say whatever they want, but it’s a pretty cowardly lack of ownership to turnaround and make excuses for it by saying they should just be able to hand it or that it doesn’t matter because they don’t actually see it. Just be a grownup and own your words.
