Lou wants a guy that will lose it every so often. If Darryl was a lot younger and wanted to move out east like Brent did with NJ that one season under Lou, Lou would've had him lined up in a heartbeat instead of Roy.

Oh I was kinda guessing this is Lou’s successor by his own intention. No evidence of that but just pure speculation on my own part. They’re similar in a lot of ways in that they’re demanding. Roy is more vocal but Lou works behind the scenes. I don’t think there’s any power struggle at play at all. Just Lou recognizing that is time is winding down.
