It's pretty obvious that McDavid is a target of SNet broadcasts. Singh, being still new to the game and plopped into a very coveted role, is extra careful to go along the company line to make sure that McDavid, and as a result the Oilers, get a different level of excitement than any opponent.

Oilers game or not I don't like his style, and much of it is the inexperience he has calling NHL or really any higher level hockey games. Main gripe is his forcing of game notes and relaying of recent stats into the commentary with little regard for the action going on the ice while he's doing that.

And often being distracted and behind a bit...decent scoring chances sometimes are ignored while non existent chances (McDavid) get an excitement level that's unwarranted. Reminds me of the disaster that Rob Kerr was that season or two on PBP.

It's a very hard job, and it takes years of experience for any announcer, let alone national ones to get that comfort level of managing information and calling the game, and getting a feeling for the pulse of a game... it's gained starting low and rising through the ranks. Singh doesnt have that experience, fast tracked into a top role really quickly.
