Just revisiting this...
When you consider 1) new coach, 2) new defensive system, 3) traded away our top scorer and 3) lost our #1D for 4 games like 3 games into the season... Nov 2nd does seem like a reasonable amount of time for things to finally start clicking.
19-11-4 = points in 23 of 34 games
42 of 68 possible points = .618 points%.
That's not just a playoff team, that's enough for 9th overall in the NHL - which is square in the middle "do some damage when we get there" territory.
