It’s needless, it’s violent, and it could very seriously injure a human being. It’s a rare type of person who even contemplates doing what Kesselring did, and the NHL needs to realize that type of anachronistic ‘tough’ old-timey play is a detriment to the league.

It was a non-hockey move against a player in an obviously vulnerable position who appeared to be injured. I would have no problem with the league permanently suspending Kesselring for the extra cross check he went back for while Zary was curled up in a fetal position on the ice.
If the NHL wants to get concussions out of the game, there has to be zero tolerance for these sorts of hits. Ever.
