Toronto ex-pat and I haven’t found even close to the same variety of food offerings, and not the same top calibre options, here in Calgary. Thai food is one that I just haven’t found anything in same realm as Toronto.

And, IMO, Toronto is far behind Chicago in regards to overall food scene. Chicago is on New York level.
