...there's still something about these narrative driven Sony games that is wearing a bit thin for me. It's production value is second to none, but the whole process of collectibles + random city events + outright wastes of time side missions slapped between story missions just feels tired. It's like they've just accepted that this is what games HAVE to be structured like when they're this scale, and that bums me out a bit.

I found the last 2/3 of Spiderman 2 to be quite enjoyable, but then that's mostly because the story and boss battles were great. I totally get what you're saying though... a lot of these games are starting to get pretty samey, even if I do adore the story in a lot of them.
