Most coaches have issues managing the clock. Teams should employ a clock management team that handles the end of half timeouts while the coach focuses on getting players ready for the next play. I consider clock management pretty minor when discussing the best coaches as to me, preparation, locker room buy-in, and execution on the field is what separates the best coaches from the rest. Lots of coaches are only good at one or two of those and it's why there's a constant coaching carousel.
