I think it was a fair response given the time of the trade. It was on back to back days where Hall and Toffoli were moved - and those two trades effectively set the market, and it was waaay softer than I expected it to be. We then saw the further erosion of the value of forwards/the trade market as a whole never really developed (due to cap).
At the time, I still stand by the reaction - and through the first month and a half of this season, it looked on point. Since then? Sharangovich has been fire. Very cool to see this develop into such a very clear "W" for Connie and the Flames in the short term. Even if Sharangovich (unlikely) goes on to drop off next season, the whole idea of acquiring Toffoli was short term need for the Devils...and Sharangovich's play has erased that, and oh - he came with a 3rd.
