There is no way that the extension rumour is true.
From the Flames' perspective, if he hasn't lived up to expectations, they would be crazy to honour it.
And from Sharangovich's (and more importantly, his agent's) perspective, if he has played well, he will want to be paid market. There is no way the agent would say "sure, we'll sign for $4M", if he is worth $6M.
There is a reason that these agreements never exist - they are completely untenable.
