I liked the move.
1) they didn't extend a player that would 32.5 at the start of a new contract for a bunch of years
2) they got younger
3) they added a pick/prospect
But I honestly didn't think Sharangovich would be this close to Toffoli in year one.
Two goals behind and one point behind through a half season (Toffoli has played 3 less games).
Not bad asset management at all.
Only issue is Sharangovich's UFA status in 18 months. Hopefully there is some truth to an extension already agreed upon, and the numbers are good in the deal.
