This works out to about $1,200/hour for labour so I know we got screwed, but I'm wondering how badly. What is the usual charge for this work?

Not quite the same, but we had our inducer motor and blower motor replaced a couple months ago. Cost was around $1600 total - 1250 in parts, 350 in labor. I'm really happy with my furnace guy, he's proven to be very capable and honest.
