The Flames don't have a Mario OR a Crosby. They have Blake Coleman and some young players. It's not like we have bedard or celebrini and we're debating about keeping our HOF star player. Trading Coleman will actually give this team a better shot at getting a star prospect because they'll get a better pick without him PLUS they'll get assets for trading him. Worry about mentors after you have someone to actually mentor.
What if trading Coleman today guarantees you the pick to get Tij Iginla? Do you not mKe that deal because you want Coleman to mentor Samuel Honzek???
Some people just fall in love with players and don't want to make changes. It's the "let's give this team one more chance" or "anything can happen" BS that kills this team.

When’s the last time someone Coleman’s age and term was traded for anything decent though? He also a NTC. Any trade for him likely means taking back a bad contract and a mediocre asset.
