It's a tough spot - because he's a guy you want to keep - but he will be 30 when that contract expires and will probably want an 8 year extension that will come in around $8M+ based on the cap at that time.
I like Andersson but I'd be very reluctant to give a 30 year old Andersson an 8 year extension worth that much money.
To me that means you should start thinking about trading him while his value is at a maximum.

Yeah, that’ll be a sad one. I love Andersson but you know teams have to be salivating at the thought of having him at this age and $2.25 if the Flames retain.
