I loved Matt Stairs. His last few years in the league he was the most clutch pinch hitter, almost legendary stats, and was just an all around great dude. Another Canadian legend to boot. That's why I drew the comparison. Votto likely isn't an everyday player anymore. But you cant argue the value that an old vet coming off the bench to hit bombs can have.
