At the very least though, their team makeup will be ... interesting. They have $66M committed and 12 players next year. Only 3 D under contract. 4 RFAs to sign or dump. No goalie signed other than Hildeby. And they can't sign anyone to long term deals without affecting the Marner room (and Tavares if they want a further extension). It's a real "chips pushed in" move for the next 1.5 years, except they have very little wiggle room to rent for this year.
