Yeah, it's just an example of who they could sign.
I don't think they have to trade one of their forwards. I think they can do it without making such a move.
You're not trading Marner, Matthews, Tavares, or Nylander. Those are top tier guys, and Tavares will likely extend the following season for a more reasonable cap-hit as well (while Marner probably stays somewhere around $11M).
Toronto seems to be a desirable destination, so they've got that going for them when it comes to bargain/risk-free short term UFA contract as well
